Dallas is not the most social person in the world,
and neither is the cute new neighbour, Calum.
But somehow they manage to strike up a deal, and they're both forced to learn that
creating the perfect masterpiece takes a whole lot of brushwork.
An Art Major AU involving tattoos, meddling roommates, and a
whole lot of social awkwardness that literally everybody has had enough of.
(Where Calum is super awkward but a ridiculously talented visual arts major, Ashton is a photography major and has two girls currently angry with him and he's not totally sure why, Michael is majoring in design and literally all his assignments are Pokémon themed and Luke majors in Creative Writing and writes beautiful poetry and yet still gets beat up by Michael for whatever reason.)
chapter 9 is available now updated: September 4 table of contents

There comes a time in our lives when even the best of things seem to fall apart before our eyes. When, no matter how hard we try, the pieces just don’t seem to want to stay together and we have to sweep up the mess that‘s been made, let them become cherished memories that fade with time.
But sometimes, when the best of all things in our lives are falling to pieces at our feet, we have to pick up those pieces and create something new out of what once was. Even if those pieces cause us to bleed. Even if the old wounds never quite heal.
Because sometimes memories just aren’t enough.
A story about the highest highs, the lowest lows, shattering parts, and finding the strength to glue the pieces back together again.

from the moment he kissed her under the park slide when they were ten years old, piper eklund knew that luke hemmings was going to be her future. after waiting for him to come to his senses (and get over his rebellious stage), the future had finally come in the form of a proposal and trying to fit all of their shit into one small house.
everything was perfect until the moment luke befriended one of the animators for the movie he was working on, who just so happened to have a bit of a past with piper. and though she’d like to hate him for shattering her heart, she couldn’t help but see the man who had romanced her during that summer abroad in italy.
and try as she might, not even piper could stop the past from repeating itself.
a story about having everything you’ve ever wanted and finding that it just might not be enough, after all.

(c) seeingred sing me a sad song (for the people we used to be)
she tells herself that she’s fine, it’s normal. people get left at the alter all the time. what does it matter if her home is a house half full of faded memories and broken dreams? she’ll find a way to get through it the same way she gets through everything, even if it’s killing her inside. he tells himself that he’s fine, everything’s normal. what does it matter that he hasn’t been on a date with anyone since he took that gold band off his finger? he’s made it this far, and he’ll make it even further, even if he has to fake it to convince everyone that he’s absofuckinglutely fine.
they tell themselves that it’s perfectly fine, everything they’re feeling is perfectly normal for two people who’ve been burned to ashes. there's nothing wrong with finding solace in your best friend, even if that solace is found in paradise where the sand and sun and sea make them believe that they just might be broken pieces to the same puzzle.
