Okay so, this is mainly for lennon, but if anyone else is interested in them and wants to know more, feel free to ask
There's nothing I love more than talking about Stereo Kicks!
STEREO KICKS:
This band is made up of 8 extremely talented and lovely boys, who auditioned for 2014's UK X Factor as solo artists and didn't make it. Simon saw something special in them and he sent the eight of them on a band boot camp thing, with the intention of keeping some and sending some home.
However, when he saw them singing together, he decided to put all eight of them through (it nearly didn't happen, James was actually in the car with his parents ready to leave before Charlie's mum ran out and stopped him from going). Unfortunately, they were lumbered with the useless Louis Walsh as a mentor and I wholeheartedly believe that's why they were in the bottom two as many times as they were - Louis said on live TV he didn't want them, he didn't want 8 people in a band, their own mentor didn't believe in them, he couldn't even remember their names so why should anyone else?
Simon, however, did believe in them. He supported them until their final week, when Cheryl Cole was being her usual bitter little haggish untalented self and whispering in his ear for him to save her act, and so he did. But Simon did make Louis apologise live on the X Factor for saying he didn't want all 8 of the boys in the band. Simon offered to mentor them himself. I'm hoping and praying that he signs them!
They have their first headline gig tomorrow and they told 800 tickets in ten minutes, which for an unsigned band is actually really amazing.
They were in the bottom two in week two and week four and both times they came back fighting - they didn't complain, they didn't come back with some sob story like every other contestant, they just took the judge's criticism on board and learnt from it, and worked their beautiful little bottoms off.
There was, however, a lot of game-playing this year - 3/4 judge's predicted at boot camp that Stereo Kicks would win the show, then two of those judges (Cheryl and Mel) realised they were a threat to their own acts and continually slagged them off week after week, there were issues with James' mic getting turned off almost every week when he went to hit his high notes, certain stories getting leaked about them but the show putting a stop to stories about other acts, someone invading the stage during one of their performances, their mentor actually forgetting their names and the other judge's making a big deal of it and leaving the boys visibly uncomfortable, the week they left their was a big deal made about one of the acts being sick and she sang perfectly when James had also been sick and struggled through his high note and nothing was said about it because they actually rely on their talent and not the sympathy vote, the day they went their phone line went down for hours and no one could call to vote - but the other acts voting lines were fine...
TXF treated these boys like shit, but they're still together and I really hope they continue to get the support they deserve.
Charlie Jones. 15. Born December 20th. From Kent. (aka 'Baby Kick')
Teeny tiny baby Charlie is actually not teeny tiny and is really fucking tall. He has like massive feet I think it's something ridiculous like size 11. He needs to stop growing and fast. Stay a baby, Charlie.
(Also he cries a lot and we love him for it.)
(I will protect Charlie Jones as all costs.)
Reece Bibby. 16. Born August 13th. From Lancashire, which doesn't really narrow it down. (aka 'Northern Kick')
HE SAID HELLO TO ME.
Sometimes he wears his hair flat like this:
We like flat-haired Reece a lot.
He sayd "ey up!" a lot and he's basically a musical genius.
James Graham. 18. Born October 12th. From Essex. (aka 'Diva Kick')
YES JAMES. YES YOU ARE.
SOMETIMES HE WINKS AND I CRY.
HE TWEETED ME ONCE. IT WAS THE BEST DAY OF MY LIFE. HE PUT A SMIRKY FACE EMOJI AND I HAD TO RING SAM TO SCREAM DOWN THE PHONE ABOUT IT.
James is my boyfriend. James is mine. I will fight anyone who tells me otherwise.
He pulls silly faces when he sings but he has the voice of an angel.
He's also really stupid and really, really funny.
James love his hair.
We have been blessed by James Graham.
He is perfection personified.
Do not fight me on this.
You will lose.
I love him.
I LOVE JAMES GRAHAM.
(Also he really loves the Planet of the Apes movies and he has a somewhat-unhealthy obsession with Ceaser)
Chris Leonard. 19. Born September 3rd. From Meath, Ireland. (aka 'Smiley Kick')
Every boyband has to have an Irish member.
Chris is smiley and happy like, always. Chris is never sad. If Chris is sad then you should be sad too because that means something bad has happened.
FML trying to find a picture of Chris where he doesn't look like an elf is hardwork.
Barclay Beales. 19. Born August 27th. From Devon. (aka 'Charming Kick')
Barclay yodels. Probably during sex, too.
Barclay is one half of Tomclay:
If you don't ship Tomclay, then you are wrong.
Barclay is also incredibly easy to find on Facebook and I have lots of embarrassing pictures of him stored on my phone.
He posed for a magazine in his undies.
It was wonderful.
Barclay is an actual angel, he is such a sweetheart.
Casey Johnson. 19. Born May 1st. From London. (aka 'Flirty Kick')
Casey is honest to God one of the most attractive people to ever grace this planet, as seen in the following picture:
Casey makes my tummy do funny things.
Lovely little nervy Casey gets so scared when he sings that his hands start to shake and you can visibly see it happening, but he tries his best to hide it behind a cheeky smile and a wink. He is a lovely, beautiful boy, inside and out.
If you don't love Casey Cody Johnson, you are doing something wrong.
Also, he is a terrible flirt. As in, he will flirt with any girl he comes across but somehow, he can get away with it because he is such a sweet guy.
CASEY ALSO SAID HELLO TO ME. AND WINKED. LORD HELP. I love the way he says my name. He'd sound better screaming it though.
CASEY'S DAD TWEETED ME AS WELL. ALWAYS NICE TALKING TO ONE OF MY FUTURE FATHER IN LAWS.
Jake Sims. 20. Born November 26th. From Bristol. (aka 'Naughty Kick')
Jake loves his boys.
Especially James and Casey.
Jake Sims is a beautiful person. He is teeny tiny (as in short) and I call him Shortstack. I want to be his best friend and I want to protect him from everything. He's had a hard time in the media because of mistakes he's made in his past (but really, come on, who hasn't made mistakes?), however I will not just blindly defend him and lately he has tweeted a couple of... dodgy things, and I've been disappointed in him, but I have hope that he'll learn. He's still young, he's been thrust into the limelight and he's not used to people picking up on everything he says yet. I am going to train him like a puppy.
Jake loves his boys more than anything and he always looks after them, especially Charlie. Charlie loves Jake.
Jake also has a super-cute bond with his little sister, Sydney.
Jake really likes tattoos and playing pranks on James and hiding in cupboards.
Jake is Sam's boyfriend like James is mine, but for some reason I just to Jake's defense more than anyone I actually know.
I have no idea why.
I suppose because I see a lot of myself in him/his past and I've changed, so I have every faith that he will, too.
Tom Mann. 21. Born November 3rd. From Southampton. (aka 'Sporty Kick')
Tom is the oldest member of Stereo Kicks. He auditioned for the X Factor before but got knocked out just before judge's houses. He is an extremely talented song write and musician - I'm still devastated they never let him bring his guitar out on the live shows.
He's a sarcastic little shit but it's why we love him.
He loves dad jokes and stealing Barclay's jumpers.
He also loves Barclay.
A lot.
He is the other half of Tomclay.
He had a girlfriend called Charlotte who is one of the most beautiful girls I've ever seen, they were together for three years but they broke up a couple of weeks ago and I'm still sad over it.
Tom LOVES taking selfies and he loves taking bath and there's nothing he loves more than taking selfies while he is in the bath because he's a fucking tease.
He updates his snapchat A LOT.
He's recently shaved his beard off and the fandom is still in mourning.
