I haven't exactly seen a thread that's just... purely fic based.
Like, Let's just talk about fics we've read.
It doesn't have to be 5sos (though it seems most fitting)
I just want to read everyone gush about the great fic they've been reading.

And I understand where you're coming from. Recipe for Disaster is one of the best written on 5sos ff. Here Comes the Sun is great too. Its complteted and a bit shorter, but priceless.
But I'm hoping as time goes and since the fandom is growing so quickly, we'll get more well written ones.

the stories are quite popular but honestly , they deserve the popularity . the sequel is just starting (it's around three chapters right now i believe) but here's the link to the first one . also cave paintings by boats and birds is probably my most favorite underrated fic . it's just amazing and claire deserves so much more credit then she's getting for writing such a wonderful piece i have read here comes the sun ! it's actually the only one i've read that i enjoyed but i read like two so and recipe for disaster is on my to read list . i'm planning a calum fic and i'm super excited for that ! however well written is debatable bc my writing is eh |

I'll definitely have to keep those in mind Thank you! I'm always looking for more fics to read. 'Off Air' by Melshy om 1dff is really good, too. I like the narrative of it.
There are a few others I read in here that KNOW arent good, but I just keep resfing it anyways? Idk sounds crazy.
Oooo, I honestly have read a Calum fic yet! And yeah, I have one too, granted, if it's well written, I'm not one to say.

you're welcome ! i'd list more but I'd just end up rambling and trust me , you don't want that . i haven't read Off Air yet , but i'll put it on my to read list .
yeah kinda like after i just hate how it's written (crossing my fingers that you're not a fan of that lololol) but every now and then i skim through and just see what's happening idk im weird
but seriously if anyone treated me like after harry treated tessa i would stab them with a rusted butter knife
i've noticed that most 5sos fics are either luke or ashton (kinda like most 1d fics are harry) but my fav is calum and i'm just better when i'm writing my fav as the main guy

No, I never got into After. I read Dark, but after that, I was just like 'im not gonna be one of those to fuel to bad boy/abusive fic fire' I think it's wrong to glorify something like After does. But bad boys are hot, apparently.
And aparently Boys Don't Cry is good, but it's so popular I dont think I can read it without hating it (idk im weird like that)
Yeah, I mean, ive beeb more variety lately. Compared to the harry to the rest of 1d ratio, there's more of the others. But it's just hard to find good plots, well written characters. Im just hella picky

dark was nicely written but yeah i understand . i'm okay with "bad boy" but i draw the line at rape and abuse .
oh boys don't cry is wonderful i rec'd it on my tumblr last wednesday yeah it's very popular but the descriptions will blow you out of the water it's just so unffff
and yeah i feel you girl , it's hard

It's sitting on my list for me to read, and I'm sure I'll get around to it, but it has to be remotely good since it's popular.
And I love bad boy stories, I mean, duh, but there are many ways you can do it wrong, and I have seen it done wrong ore often times than not. idk. Maybe I'll take it upon myself to finally write a popular one lol.
I know for Calum fics, 'the View from the Afternoon' seems to show up a lot when I scroll through updates, and it could possibly be good. As for others, I really don't know. I haven't read many Michael's, and I've read a few Luke's, but they've been p bad.
I'll just continue to read everything till I find something good..

Yeah, I have a huge criteria for fics. idk, I think since it's been harder to find good ones, I've just been reading whatever, just to try it out. Which I supposed isn't that bad.
but like I said, I'm hoping one good things will come out of the fandom growing so huge, and we'll get a lot better fics soon. plus, summer. people are more free during the summer time.

I plan on doing basically the same thing.
Though that's been my summers for the past two years, so it's not like it's that unlikely..
I'm sure a good 30% will be to fic reading, too..
