A trope is an "overused" plot device. But there's a reason tropes are used often - it's because they are pretty much amazing. Sometimes it's nice to indulge in writing (and reading) tropes. I'm making this challenge to encourage that! If that interests you, keep reading

one-shot or multi-chapter fic
mechanics:
Respond to this post with a number from 1-12 and one of the following colors: Blue, Green, Red, Yellow.
The color will assign you a boy to involve. The number will assign you a trope. I will send you this assignment. All the tropes were selected from fanlore.org. None are inherently explicit/sexual/triggering but I will absolutely find you a new trope if you are uncomfortable writing the one assigned.
rules:
1) NO PLAGIARISM. This is so, so important. Obviously tropes are popular plot ideas and it's possible someone will have written your plot before for another fandom. Just PLEASE make sure that your writing is your own and that you didn't just google popular fics for your trope and copied the entire thing.
2) Let me know if you need an extension IN ADVANCE.
3) One-shots should be at least 3,000 words. Multi-chaptered fics should have at least 2,000 words per chapter. If you are going to write a multi-chaptered fic, it must be completed and posted entirely by the deadline.
4) Slash is allowed and encouraged. So is MA fic and dark!fic. Nothing is off-limits.
5) Mention this challenge somewhere in the summary.
6) To make sure you read the rules, put "!!" somewhere in your post. I will NOT message you an assignment otherwise.
prizes:
FIRST PLACE - I'll favorite you as an author, favorite two of your stories and write ten critiques on any combination of chapters you want.
SECOND PLACE - I'll favorite one of your stories and give you six critiques (again, any combination of chapters).
THIRD PLACE - I'll give you four critiques of any combination.

September 12th at 6 PM EST.
