So for those of you who don't know, NaNoWriMo stands for National Novel Writing Month and it takes place in November. The goal is to write 50K words in one month. Technically, you're supposed to stick to one story but that's a bendable rule, and you'll see why I'm breaking that rule this year in just a moment. There're also NaNo rebels, people who set goals of less than 50K for themselves in one month because they know that they won't be able to make 50K. And not everyone does reach 50K words in one month, which is completely fine because you were still productive throughout the month and got stuff written! So even though NaNo starts in November, it's not unusual for people to get into the crazy spirit two or three months in advance, I am one of those people and so I'm doing some planning before the event takes place! Now onto what this is actually about!
My problem with doing any form of NaNoWriMo is that I get bored. I get all excited about what I'm going to write, and then when it comes to actually getting it down on paper, I hit a wall and no longer want to write my story. I've got a lot of it planned out, but I'm stumped. It's sad but true.
Since I'm not writing any original fiction for NaNo this time around, I figured it was okay that I be able to focus on more than one story so as to keep myself from losing interest and steam. And I'll still be aiming for 50K, just not for one particular story.
And this is where you guys come in! Not everyone on here or on 1DFF knows me very well so I'm telling you right now that when it comes to fanfiction, I am a hot mess. My 1D fics aren't as bad but when it comes to Harry Potter, my authors page is a disaster zone. Almost thirty novels, 99% of them nothing more than just one chapter (and that's just HP). I saw a pretty banner and staked my claim on it by starting a story, it's a bad habit. POINT IS NaNo is a chance for me to actually make progress on some fics so that they're not just sitting there and gathering dust.
So I've gone through and decided which ones I want to write most about and you guys can help pick out a few for me! Now, I'm going to be posting titles and summaries for my 5SOS fics so that you guys can get a feel for them, but I'll also have two other categories titled 1DFF and HPFF and a list of numbers under each, pick one number (or several) from those categories, as well as a 5SOS fic that sounds the most interesting to you. The more people respond, the better!please respond
And of course I'll be keeping a tally.
HPFF:
1-13
1DFF:
1-6
5SOS:
Daddy's Boy
All I remember about Ashton Irwin was the fact that he was an absolutely irritating know-it-all, was the cleanest teenage boy I'd ever seen, and came from a rich family.
How he went from that well-rounded good kid to this pissy, hobo-looking, fag smoking, almost-alcoholic twenty-year-old is beyond me, all I know is that I'm being forced to go on a cross country road trip with him.
An AU in which Isobel Fisherman is forced to endure a surly child for her entire summer break and resists the temptation to drive her car off a cliff.
Say Cheese
Shilo Hood and Calum Hood were often asked if they were related in any way because of their matching surnames —they weren't. And just like their matching surnames, they had similar personalities and similar jobs: they were both artists. But while Shilo worked her magic with a camera and some ridiculously good-looking models in equally ridiculously gorgeous —not to mention expensive— clothing, Calum worked his magic by using make-up to make these models reach new levels of self-esteem destroying.
And they were both very interested in getting down with boys if you know what I mean.
But while her parents were slightly disappointed that she had never become a scientist, and dodging around that absolute hag Nora Richards, Shilo had a good life; she traveled the world, made lots of money, and had her best friend right there to enjoy all of it with her.
And then one day Michael Clifford walked in and fucked it all up.
Match Made by Idiots
Harry Styles, Ashton Irwin, and Luke Hemmings all had one thing in common: Vera Olympia. They'd become friends on a rainy day when cabs didn't stop for anyone and when they did, it was first come first serve, and they'd all dove into one cab at the same time.
Ten years after that incident and they were all best friends. But while Vera was off building her own business, the three other boys had become world famous celebrities.
While Vera and Harry both claimed that they were too busy to have a love life, Luke and Ashton were absolutely convinced that Vera and Harry were a match made in heaven and they were going to make the two of them notice it if it was the last thing that they did.
A crossover in which Ashton and Luke are asexual and have a special gift for meddling in their friends lives.
In the Name of Love
Luke Hemmings was lonely, all he wanted was someone to cuddle with, and kiss, and go to bed with, and spoil. That was apparently too much to ask for from the universe because every date that he had been on was with girls that were either irritating, or too loud, or too creepy, or bordering on being a psychopath.
His friends were tired of hearing about how unlovable he was and how he would die alone, despite the fact that he was only eighteen, and so decided to take it into their own hands. If Luke was incapable of attracting a girl, then they would do the job for him.
The girl that Luke's three friends picked went by the name of Lisa Johnson and she was everything that Luke looked for in a girl. But while Lisa was perfect in theory, for the life of Ashton, Michael, and Calum, they couldn't figure out why she wanted nothing to do with their home boy.
And then there was the problem of Olive Wright.
So yeah, that's about it for now. I had a couple more stories I could've added to the list but they can wait so this is it for now!
