Michael really didn't want to go to England.

He didn't want to stay with his cousins, he didn't want to be away from his band mates for half a year and he definetley didn't want to go to his Aunt's stupid wedding.

But in order to keep his family happy, he put on a fake smile and tried to act as if he didn't want to jump onto the next flight back to Sydney.

However, in the midst of Michael's internal hatred for the UK, a beautiful plot twist called Lori Phillips manages to clamber her way into his life, and eventually his heart.

But with less than five months left until the Clifford's have to head home, Michael realizes that going back no longer sounds like a good idea.



An AU where Luke can't stop skyping Michael, Ashton is in the middle of an existential crisis at the age of 20, Calum is getting unwanted male attention and Michael somehow falls in love.

Okay in all seriousness though, I've missed this fic a lot and I can't believe I stopped updating because I got such amazing feedback from people and I took that for granted and just thought "its fine, I'll get back to it later" yeah, well done abi, later turned into like 3 FUCKING MONTHS.

I need 3 girlfriends for the boys (eg, Lucas, Ashton and Calum) because as much as I love creating characters myself, I already have nearly 13 original characters (both written and in the making) so I thought some of you could create them yourselves?

Ashton's girlfriend
(lil background on YIR Ashton - he's slightly cocky and loves girl's giving him attention, so he's a natural flirt and charmer. However, he's a romantic and knows how to treat girls right, so he'll go all out for that one special girl, but before he meets her he wants to go on dates to make sure he finds 'the one' because deep down he's a complete softy and has a fragile heart)
Luke's girlfriend
(lil background on YIR Luke - he's very, very shy and insecure because of some bullying growing up. However since being best friends with Michael his confidance has been boosted and he does feel a little more comfortable in his own skin, but he's still very nervous around girls and thinks that he won't ever get a girlfriend because he doesn't think he's good looking enough or funny enough which is complete bullshits because he's gorgeous)
Calum's girlfriend
(lil background on YIR Cal - he's overprotective and gets jealous easily because of an incident in his younger years where a boy stole his girlfriend from him dont know what that bitch was thinking leaving cal but it did lead to some serious character development so he's very protective of himself and his band mates, never wanting to be heart broken again. At first he's very reserved on the inside, on the outside he's bubbly and outgoing, so when he meets a girl he really likes it takes a while to get comfortable with her, but when he does he will protect her like no other and worship her like a queen)

Kally is bubbly and rather outgoing, she is an optimist always trying to see the best side of life. Kally is a bit of a free spirit and slightly gun-shy of large commitments. Kally is rather blunt and always tends to end up in rather socially awkward situation but often has a quick enough wit to get herself out of them. Kally appreciates good humor but can't make a joke to save her life. 
Backstory:
Kally grew up the oldest of 6. Her mother always relied on her to help take care of her younger siblings which Kally found stifling. Her father worked a lot and wasn't home much.  Kally was fairly well liked in school and was the captain of the cheer-leading team. When she graduated she promptly left home much to the disapproval of her parents and headed off to university.

Personality:
 Teagan is very ambitious, she knows what she wants and she steps up and takes it.  She doesn't let anyone or anything stand in her way.  She can turn on her charm when she needs to, but she truly is a sweetheart deep down, and would go out of her way for anyone that walks into her life.  She has a history of being too trusting, but it's all part of her appeal.  In terms of her and Ashton, she didn't let his charm get the best of her, and she made him work to go on a date with her.  She has a great sense of humor, and is sometimes a little more sarcastic than she means to be.  She definitely marches to the beat of her own drummer, but that's what makes her so great.  She is who she is and changes for no one.
Backstory:
Teagan was grew up with her parents and little sister in America, where she played soccer her entire life.  She had her pick of college scholarships waiting for her after she graduated high school, but instead she shocked everyone.  Once she finished school, she decided she needed a huge change and decided to move abroad (either England or Australia, or wherever really that fits in with your story).  Although she misses her family more than anything, there's no way she would give up the experience she's having.  Especially now that she's met Ashton, she knows she made the right decision.

Personality:Bubbly and confident, Nick is as sweeter than the lolipops she insists she's not too old for. She's a ball of energy and always puts her whole heart into what she does. Sometimes she tends to get a bit zoned out and caught up in her own head,but don't let that fool you, she is very determined once she figures out what she wants. She has a talent for helping others, loves kids and wants to be a elementary school teacher. Nick has had to overcome some teasing from her siblings and piers about her freckles so she can relate to Luke, but at the same time all she wants is for everyone to feel comfortable in their own skin. She's fun and flirtatious without even trying and she got Luke's attention simply because of her energy. She'll put him at ease, make him smile all the time and laugh at his goofy jokes, simply because that's the way she is.

Background: Nick grew up as the youngest of three, meaning she has two older brothers, both of them what you would have considered typical jocks, but she loves them all the same. Her family is almost the depiction of the picture perfect family, which puts Nick under a lot of pressure to be perfect as well.  She is a good student and about to graduate (has just graduated... I'm not sure how the schooling works in Australia in terms of what time of the year graduation takes place etc) and she can't wait for to live out university with her best friend by her side!

Personality: Alden is a little goofball, able to make jokes about anyone or anything, including herself, to keep people smiling. She doesn't like to dwell on the negativity of the world and prefers to choose to be happy and see the bright side of any situation, no matter how grim. She's creative and artistic, preferring to let her feelings/emotions out through the Arts...anything creative. She can be a little cheeky, free-spirited, and reckless which sometimes lands her in some interesting situations because she didn't think things through. Alden's warm, accepting and friendly, talking to everyone she encounters and she loves to hear stories of their lives. She also comes across as a little weird to most people but she could care less...she says that she is who she is, and if you don't like it, you can move along. She also comes across as opinionated when she really just likes to discuss anything and everything, sometimes finding it hard to keep her thoughts to herself...even if she means no harm.


Backstory: Alden and her older brother were 10 and 12 when their mother married their stepfather. Their mother was never married to their biological father but they seen him every now and then growing up, gradually losing contact along the way. After a couple of rough years adjusting to having a man in the house, Alden and her stepdad finally started to bond over music which has only become stronger the older they get. She wasn't popular in school but she wasn't unpopular, having friends from all walks of life. Her mom instilled in her at a young age to be independent, never look down on anyone, to accept people as they are and to always lend a helping hand. After graduating high school, she decided on a whim that she wanted to travel a bit before attending college...in part because it sounded fun, and also because she had no clue what she wanted to do with her life...and that's how she ended up in England.

Personality: Philippa is a paradox. Initially, she seems to be quite mysterious with her cutting stare and wry smile, but in all honesty, she's a very simplistic girl. She is very blunt and straightforward about how she feels and what she thinks and doesn't appreciate playing games with people's heads or being backhanded about things. She isn't afraid to challenge people and their beliefs, but doesn't do it in an arrogant way. She's fairly even-tempered on average, not letting anything get under her skin easily. When something does get under her skin, she becomes the embodiment of fire- a slow-burning figure of rage; normally though, she is very in touch with her emotions. A subtle confidence radiates from her pores, not overpowering but still so obviously there. Philippa has always been a self-assured young woman and is a passionate advocate of putting yourself first, though she understands the importance of investing in relationships with others. She is extremely comfortable in her femininity and sexuality, due to her mother's philosophies. She has never been the "smart" one in school, though people assumed that she was for some reason. She likes to keep herself educated on important matters though and constantly has her nose in a book that her mom recommended she read. Most people assume that her humor would be somewhat dry and cynical, but really she tends to find amusement in the littlest things and has a penchant for making amazing puns. Personality: very sarcastic and real/down to earth. she's a feminist and hates ashton's ''past'' as a player/womanizer. she's not afraid to open her mouth and be honest, this causes a lot of people to think she's rude, but she knows when to shut up (mostly). leah has a very bubbly personality, yet she's very negative and pessimistic.
Backstory: her parents had a nasty divorce when leah was fourteen, because of her father's affair with a younger woman. this causes her mother to turn to drugs and alcohol to numb the pain she was left with after her husband left her. with leah being an only child, and her father not being in the picture anymore, this was hard for her to deal with at such a young age. after her mother went to rehab, leah went to live with her aunt. leah has no relationship with her mum, whatsoever, anymore and does not intend to have one in the future. her mother was only clean for a few weeks after being released from rehab, when leah found out, that's when she decided not to have a relationship with her mother anymore.
