stockholm syndrome tut

hey lovelies!!
how are you? you look super nice today :-)

so! today we are making this babe:

i use cs5 btw

so this is my first tut on 5sos boards
i was really bored and i had some free time so this happened yay
hooray for boredom and free time!!
and i really hope you guys tried this
anywaaaays, let us move on

gif thingy :

- sorry i made the gif online, my photoshop got an error or something bc it wouldn't let me make my own gifs :( -

ingredients :
texture: 12345678
people: ms furrer mr hemmings
psd: ab
font: black jack

let us get started!!

step one
open our new canvas. with the width:1300 and height:400 (which we will be saving later as 650x200 or 50%, i just want to start off with a bigger canvas so we can get better quality) and set the background contents to transparent. our canvas is ready af

step two
now we are gonna do the background yay
first, open texture 1 and place it on the canvas. on my case, i duplicated it and rotated them a bit so it could fill the canvas nicely.
drag texture 2 over the left side of our canvas, rotate and resize it a bit
texture 3 should be over texture 2, again, rotate it however you like, as long as it feels nice
place texture 4 to the right side of the canvas, showing only a we bit part of it.
place texture 5 on top of texture 4,
our background is finished omg



step 3
it's time for the people woooo
let's place miss ronja furrer in the center, a bit to the left. erase off the edges of her picture so it could blend nicely with the background (also put the hardness to 0%).
next up is mister luke hemmings yay. put him beside our girl and flip him horizontally. do the erasing trick on his picture too.
dear god we are almost there



step 4
now for the details and overlays!!
drag texture 6 on top of luke and put it to screen at 100%. duplicate the layer and place the other one on the left side of the canvas, its edges touching ronja's picture. erase some parts that cover luke's face.
open texture 7 and stretch it so that it fills the whole canvas. erase some parts that cover our characters' faces. put the layer to lighten at 100%
do the same to texture 8 except put it to screen at 90%. on my case i duplicate it and use it to cover the right part of the canvas but it's really up to you.
yay move on to the next step!


step 5
the title and subtitle/quotes yay
use the black jack font for the title. type it on the bottom center of our canvas. duplicate it. the bottom one should be black and the top one should use a gradient overlay opacity at 45% and the colour black to white. nudge the bottom (the black one) a bit so it should look like the top one's (the gradient one) shadow. rotate it a bit.
for the subtitle/quotes, i used the font georgia and put it at top left and the other one at bottom right.
IT IS ALMOST DONE PEOPLE GET READY



step 6
now add a new layer and merge your layer into a new one (not into only one). to do so, you could click ctrl+shift+alt+e on your new blank layer. filter the merge with lens blur and set the opacity to 20%



step 7
almooooosst finished!!
now let's do the colouring. open psd 1 and set it to 40% and put psd 2 to 20%
AND HOLY CRAP WE ARE DONE YAAYAYAYYAY

(on second thought i don't think you need to add any colouring at all bc it already looked nice without the psd)
